Waterseals

Where can I buy plastic waterseals?

We carry 6mm and 10mm waterseals which are easily purchased by coming into our store.

For semi-frameless and frameless shower screen doors, the water seals are typically designed to pop on and off without the need for screws. By following these steps, you should be able to easily replace the plastic water seal on your semi-frameless or frameless shower screen door, ensuring it remains watertight and functional.

Here’s how you can replace these seals:

Tools and Materials Needed:

  1. Replacement water seal (ensure it matches your shower door’s specifications)
  2. Measuring tape
  3. Utility knife or scissors
  4. Cleaning supplies (mild detergent, sponge, cloth)

Steps to Replace the Plastic Water Seal

1. Measure the Existing Seal

  • Measure the length of the existing seal to ensure you get a replacement that fits properly.

2. Remove the Old Seal

  • Open the shower door to provide easy access.
  • Firmly grip the old seal and gently pull it off the bottom edge of the glass. These seals usually snap on and off, so it should come off without much resistance.

3. Clean the Area

  • Once the old seal is removed, clean the bottom edge of the glass door thoroughly to remove any residue, dirt, or mildew. Use a mild detergent and a sponge or cloth.
  • Dry the area completely with a clean cloth.

4. Cut the New Seal to Size:

  • Measure the new seal against the door and cut it to the appropriate length using a utility knife or scissors.

5. Install the New Seal

  • Align the new seal with the bottom edge of the glass door.
  • Snap the new seal onto the door by pressing it firmly into place. Start at one end and work your way to the other, ensuring the seal fits snugly along the entire length of the door.

6. Check the Fit:

  • Close the shower door and check the fit of the new seal. Ensure it forms a good seal with the shower tray or floor to prevent water from leaking out.
